Anti-Wrinkle Botulinum Toxin

Injecting Botox

What is Anti Wrinkle Botulinum Toxin?

Botulinum toxin, or BoNT, also often called by the brand name “Botox”, is a naturally occurring protein produced by certain bacteria. When injected into the muscles, it reduces the effect of nerves acting on the area. Relaxation of muscles in the upper face associated with forehead creases, frown lines and crow’s feet prevents overuse and lessens dynamic wrinkles.

BoNT has been licenced for cosmetic uses in the UK since 2002. It is a prescription-only medication, and must be prescribed by a qualified medical prescriber. All of our practitioners are registered UK prescribers.

A small needle is used to introduce the BoTN into the face. The discomfort is usually minimal but we will discuss this in your consultation.

Mild discomfort, redness and bleeding surrounding the injection site can occur. Occasionally slight bruising or swelling may appear post-procedure.

At ALL Medical Aesthetics we aim to give you smooth, natural-looking skin without the ‘frozen’ look. You will notice results from 5 – 14 days post procedure, with the treatment lasting between 3 – 4 months.

A face to face review with advice at 14 days post procedure is complimentary.

Prices

As BoNT is a prescription only medication, patients need to be seen by one of our specially trained doctors before any Botox injections can take place. If it is recommended that Botox would be the most appropriate Anti-Winkle treatment, then pricing would be as below.

1 Area:   £160
2 Areas: £210
3 Areas: £260

About the Procedure

Once we have completed the initial 30 minute assessment the procedure usually takes less than 20 minutes. No anaesthetic is needed. Sterile instruments and techniques are used throughout to maximise patient safety.

Aftercare

You can return to basic activities immediately after anti-wrinkles botulinum treatment. We advise avoiding hot tubs, saunas, vigorous exercise, make up or facial massages within 24 hours of the procedure.  You may begin to notice results within 3-5 days, with full results in 14 days.

A face-to-face review at 14 days will ensure any concerns regarding the treatment outcome are met.

Timing

The muscle relaxing effects approximately 4 months, but this can vary between patients. Usually the effects wear off more rapidly in patients who have received fewer anti-wrinkle treatments in the past. In between treatments, ensure SPF is worn on a daily basis to prevent any UVA damage.
